Teachers: Radha and Pierre.Ashtanga yoga classes are held from Sunday to Friday. Saturday is a free day.
There are NO Yoga classes on full-moon and new-moon (this does not apply to the other activities).
Teacher: Liz Robin
Liz trained in the Shaw Method of teaching swimming with Steven Shaw as it seemed to be a perfect ‘fit’ with her tai chi teaching. Many of the physical principles of using the core, body alignment and moving in a relaxed and even way along with the mental principle of being in the moment and using movement as a meditation are key to both disciplines. Being able to swim long distance in open water and enjoy it and not feel exhausted or out of breath are a revelation and can open up a whole new water world! She will offer a Shaw Method front crawl swimming workshop for all levels of ability.
Teacher: Cliff Joseph
Cliff believes that dancing is a very important part of our culture and opens a whole new realm within a person that intensifies concentration, observation skills, creative thinking as well as a chance to express oneself whilst therapeutically connecting with your body. During dance, the movement becomes intertwined with the emotions, until a type of harmony is made between body and form, so that dance becomes like breathing.
Cliff is one of the UK’s most established and respected salsa teachers. He has taught and performed in London, throughout the U.K. and at international dance events throughout Europe and Asia and has appeared on numerous T.V. and Radio programmes including Celebrity Fitness Club. He also appeared in the salsa instructional video “Everybody Salsa”. Cliff also regularly practises Astanga Vinyasa Yoga.
He is a qualified dance teacher receiving a commendation from the United Kingdom Alliance of Dance Teachers for his teaching. In 2007 he co-founded the Salsateca Student Dance Team and in 2011 he co-founded the Mawu-Lisa Dance Company which he continues to co-direct and choreograph. He is also an experienced salsa dance judge and in 2010 he was a Head Judge for the European Salsa Open Championships.
…A few weeks at YP sets us up to deal with the rest of the year!
